Balances: art that can't be sold

Balances: art that can't be sold

Jack Butcher found the cure for paper hands: art that can't be sold.

Balances, part of his "exchange" project. Hold any amount of the $BALANCE token and your wallet gets a soulbound artwork showing your balance as a number and a CMYK color mix. Transfers revert. It stays even when you hit zero. A tattoo of your bank account.

OpenSea right now: 29,511 Balances, 29,511 owners, $0 volume. Offers around $500 still sit on pieces that contractually can't leave the building.

Follow the Value: the NFT is a receipt. A gorgeous one, still a receipt. All the price action lives in the ERC-20, whose supply comes from "statements," made by burning 80 tradable "credits," then surrendered for $BALANCE.

So the art is the marketing. The token is the product.

Genius distribution, or a very pretty machine for printing 29K "holders"?
