A privacy network found relays scoring nearly 200,000 on bandwidth they couldn't actually deliver. The operator says it was a stress test.
Anyone Protocol pays relay operators largely by "consensus weight," a score built from measured bandwidth. Per its own governance proposal, a group of exit relays hit 100,000 to 160,000, some near 200,000, using short, repeated traffic bursts. Independent throughput checks didn't match. Stock relay software, no modified binaries.
The team capped scores at 50,000 on Oct. 22. Now stakers are voting on pausing the operator's rewards and removing its relays. The operator, who controls both wallets involved, says the bursts were stress tests for an AI app. Voting ends Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
The stress test went great. Mostly it tested the payout formula.
