Starknet asked whether it should research leaving Ethereum. 93.52% said yes. The holders mostly watched.

The non-binding Snapshot closed Oct 22: 3,236 votes, 489.3M STRK of voting power. Per Coindaro's count, about 94% of that power came from one whitelist, "STRK (SNF delegated)": 109 addresses the Starknet Foundation gave fixed weights. Staked STRK added 5.6%. STRK sitting on Ethereum: under 0.01%. StarkWare abstained. The Foundation's delegates did not.

The case is real, to be fair. Starknet's STARK proofs are hash-based and already post-quantum. The bridge and data still lean on Ethereum's elliptic curves, and Ethereum's own fix targets about 2029. Eli Ben-Sasson wants 2027 because "deadlines slip."

Follow the Value: as an L2, Starknet rents its security from Ethereum. As an L1, STRK becomes the security budget. That's a token near $0.055 with 127M more unlocking Nov 15. Either STRK finally gets a job, or it gets the whole bill.

Whitepaper in November, then a binding vote. If the same delegates carry that one too, is it a community decision or a Foundation memo with better turnout?
