Everdraw found a way to make you burn an NFT and call it character select.
The Grimoire reveal went live today. Burn your Grimoire, get three random PFPs (Wink, Flux, Glyph), keep one. The other two go to the "cemetery." The team generated 6,000 PFPs; only 2,000 will ever mint. The 218 Zombie Grimoires get to shop the cemetery instead.
Which traits are rare? Per the team's own FAQ, whoever reveals decides. And the three characters "do not, at the moment, offer different experiences" in the game. So it's a very stylish wardrobe decision.
Token Autopsy: • Season Genesis (TCG/RPG): 8 weeks, $50K USDC, $6,250/week split 4,500 rank + 1,750 raffle • Trading fees + treasury bought 210 Grimoires, 101 Pack Bundles, 27 Origin Boxes. The bundles and boxes "will never re-enter circulation" • 559 treasury Grimoires (~28%) earn no rewards, so holders get a bigger slice • $EVER: officially "an eventual token" • Game release date: none, on purpose, after the delays
Credit where due: spending fees to retire your own inventory is a more honest buyback than most tokens ever get. But a team-seeded $50K prize pool is a marketing budget, not an economy, and the asset everyone is farming toward doesn't exist yet.
Winners: early holders, who face fewer rivals in Week 1 with the store closed. Holding the bag: anyone already pricing in $EVER before there's a game to spend it in.
The reveal is the best-designed part of the game so far. Is that a compliment?
