"100% Rule" sounds like a diet. For PYTH, it means the DAO's share of product revenue buys the token. Your share of that diet: still TBD.
Pyth closed Q3 at $11.49M active ARR, up 86.5% QoQ. 276 paying accounts. They priced roughly 94% of tracked RWA perp volume last quarter (~$2.1T). Real customers. Real invoices. Rare enough here to deserve a slow clap.
Then OP-PIP-136: every dollar the DAO receives from Pyth Pro, Indices, Data Marketplace, and Listing-as-a-Service goes to open-market PYTH buys into the Reserve. Old rule was one-third of the non-PYTH balance, monthly vote. New rule: all of it, standing auth. Reserve sits around 42M PYTH.
Token Autopsy: the revenue is real. The buybacks are real. The fine print is also real. • The DAO gets 60% of revenue on products it owns. Douro Labs keeps its cut. • Purchases land in the DAO Reserve—"capacity to fund contributors"—not a burn, not a dividend, not your wallet. • So "100% of what the DAO earns" is not "100% of what the business earns," and accumulation by governance ≠ distribution to holders.
Quietly one of the cleaner value loops in oracles. Just don't confuse the DAO getting fat with you getting paid.
Who actually wins when a DAO Reserve stacks the float—tokenholders, or the people writing the contributor invoices?
